Before diving into your laser tag battle, ensure your Alphapoint is powered up and ready to go. Just beneath where the IR signal comes from under the front of the barrel, open the battery compartment using a Phillips screwdriver, and insert four AA alkaline batteries (not included).

The Alphapoint pistol model does not have a built-in heads-up display (HUD) like the Deltaburst rifle model. It uses a color light pattern to signify low ammunition and health points. Equipped with an infrared emitter and a receiver on the top of the barrel, the Alphapoint fires up to 225 feet (68 meters), enabling a large enough range for the ultimate battle. This means you can form teams, strategize, and work together to outsmart your opponents. The light indicator turns off when a player loses all health points.

Selecting Team Colors

Use the navigation control, which is also the reload button, to scroll through the color options on the light indicator on the top of the blaster and select the desired color for your team. Red and blue are team mode colors. Reds can shoot blues and not other reds or purples. Blues can shoot reds and not other blues or purples. Purple is the free-for-all mode where purples can shoot other purples, not reds or blues.

Download and Install the App

Visit the app store on your iOS or Android device and search for "Nerf Laser Ops" to find and download the app. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Alphapoint with your device via Bluetooth. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device and within range of the Alphapoint.

Selecting Game Modes

Before selecting game modes through the app, you must sync blasters to the phone app. If only using one phone with multiple laser blasters, the app allows players to see their final score, how many target hits they got, and more. With one phone, browse the available game modes and select the one that matches your desired gameplay style or your group's preferences. 

Activating Special Features

 

Using all-device-mode requires a smartphone for each blaster in use and one of the phones to be the host phone. This mode opens up special features that enhance the gameplay experience. These may include power-ups, special abilities, or alternative firing modes. For example, before a match, each player chooses a power-up such as Power Shot which changes each shot from two damage to seven damage.  

Other features include Massive Blast, which causes damage to ALL your opponents at once, Radar which briefly shows the locations of all players, Health Pack, which allows you to gradually get back your health and Heal Allies, which allows you to blast at your allies to restore health.

Access the special features menu and toggle the desired options on or off. Most special features will require a task to unlock the feature, such as completing a multiplayer free-for-all game, a multiplayer team game, or scoring 500 points or 1000 points in the single-player Drone Battle game. Experiment with different combinations to unlock new strategies and surprises during battles.
